REVIEW: Bioré Aqua Rich UV Watery Gel SPF 50+ PA++++ (2016)

Bioré recently launched the 2017 version of this sunscreen, it looks like this now. You can still find the 2015/2016 versions online though so my review is not too late. This is a super hyped sunscreen in the Asian Beauty community, mostly because it's very inexpensive and it has a sufficient cosmetic elegance for every day urban wear. The Watery Gel comes in 90 ml tube and it retails between $8-10 on eBay. The price per ml is a lot lower compared to most sunscreens.

Just like the Watery Essence, the Watery Gel is your classical commute/low UV exposure sunscreen. Which means, it won't be suitable for your beach day but it works amazingly as your autumn/winter daily sunscreen. This version isn't sweatproof/waterproof but the 2017 is.

I had a tube of this sunscreen in my backpack all summer for emergency situations. It is inexpensive enough so that I don't feel bad using it on my body and it also gets absorbed super quickly so I can even reapply while in the public transport. (People do look at you like you're an alien though!)

Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate (also known as Octinoxate) is a chemical UVA and UVB filter. Ethanol is a solvent, a lot of people avoid it because it can be drying but in the case of this sunscreen it makes the product dry on your face quicker. Lauryl Methacrylate / Sodium Methacrylate Crosspolymer is a film forming agent. C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate is an emollient. Bis-ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine (also known as Tinosorb S) is an oil-soluble chemical UVA and UVB filter. Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate (also known as Uvinul A Plus) is a chemical UVA filter. Dimethicone is an emollient. Ethylhexyl Triazone (also known as Uvinul T150) is chemical UVB filter. Polymethylsilsesquioxane is a silicone, it's film forming agent. Titanium Dioxide is a physical UVA and UVB filter. Xylitol is a moisturizer. Dextrin Palmitate is an emulsifier. Hydroxyethyl Cellulose is a viscosity control agent. Glyceryl Stearate is an emollient and an emulsifier. Looking at the ingredients, this looks like an excellent broad spectrum sunscreen but experience shows you really shouldn't rely on this for long exposure periods because you can get sunburned wearing it. So what actually made me repurchase it? The cosmetic elegance. This is so easy to apply and it leaves a beautiful natural finish, it doesn't take ages to dry down and most importantly it doesn't turn oily through the day. It doesn't leave any white cast either. Compared to the Watery Essence, it has a lot less alcohol-y fragrance, which is why I personally prefer it. It's SPF 50 + PA ++++ (= PPD 16+) which means it's still provides that very needed broad spectrum protection for the everyday.

If you are convinced you hate sunscreen because it's messy and it feels heavy on your face I would highly recommend you trying out Bioré Watery Gel (or the Watery Essence). I heard the new 2017 version isn't as good and I am going to try it out as soon as possible and get back to you.

REVIEW: Vivant Skincare 8% Mandelic Acid 3-In-1 Serum

The Mandelic Acid Serum was a product Vivant Skincare sent me in 2015 and I started using much later. I've been using it on and off since spring 2016.

The 8% Mandelic Acid Serum is a classic AHA suitable for beginners because as far as I know this concentration of mandelic acid is gentlest AHA you could find. At first I was reluctant to try this because in order to dive into the actives ocean, you need a very good basic routine. But then I started using it once a week in order to try and find my skin limits. The product comes in a glass bottle with a dropper and it contains 30 ml of serum. It retails for $60 on Amazon and Vivant Skincare's site which is honestly way out of my budget and I wouldn't be able to afford it if they didn't send it to me. I've been using the product for almost a year and I still have half of it left, so it's very economical.

Propylene Glycol is a solvent, viscosity control agent and a moisturizer. Mandelic Acid is an AHA, it's less aggressive than the rest of AHAs and it is also used for its antibacterial properties. Niacinamide (derivative of vitamin B3) is a brightening ingredient. It's often used together with AHAs because it makes the serum even more effective. Xanthan Gum is a viscosity control agent. Polysorbate 20 is a surfactant and an emulsifier. Saccharomyces/Zinc Ferment is a moisturizing and brightening ingredient. You can find it in a lot of fermented essences. Sodium Lactate is a moisturizer. Sodium PCA is an antistatic and a moisturizer. Glycine is a moisturizer, a fragrance and a pH adjuster. Fructose is a moisturizer. Urea is a moisturizer and an anti-inflammatory ingredient. Inositol is a component of the lecithin complex that might have water-binding properties. Sodium Benzoate is a preservative. Lactic Acid is another AHA, stronger than Mandelic Acid, it's a brightening ingredient. You can find the ingredients on CosDNA here.

As I said, at first I used the mandelic acid once per week. Then I tried using twice per week and it absolutely didn't work because it made my face very dry and flaky. Generally, every time I use this product my skin gets flushed and I experience a slight burning sensation. What I found works better is using the serum only for 10 minutes. I apply my pH adjusting toner after cleansing, then the serum and 10 minutes later I continue with my routine. The moisturizers in my routine stop the reaction and prevent from further exfoliation. If I use this active for longer, my skin quickly gets both dry and dehydrated. Despite having rather normal skin, it seems to be intolerant to actives so right now I pretty much use this twice per month. Keep in mind, when using AHAs, in the beginning, it's normal if your skin gets worse because the AHA will pull all the junk that was about to come out sooner or later and you might have a bunch of zits popping a week after you first start using it. If that's the case, don't be scared and don't stop using it, your skin will clear out soon enough. If you have zits all over your face though and you normally don't, it might be an allergic reaction. I still can't figure out why my skin reacts so badly to actives when it's in good condition most of the time but for now I have definitely decided to stick to this gentle serum twice per month than try and experiment with harsher AHAs. Another important thing I forgot to mention is that you absolutely must use sunscreen every day when you are using AHAs. Even if you are staying at home, if you are near the window, at least slap some SPF 15 moisturizer generously to protect your skin.

Както казах, първоначално използвах манделовата киселина веднъж на седмица. После пробвах по два пъти на седмица и въобще не се получи, защото лицето ми стана сухо и белещо се. По принцип, всеки път когато ползвам този продукт кожата ми се зачервява и усещам леко парене. За себе си открих, че да оставя серума само 10 минути работи по-добре. Нанасям pH регулиращия тоник след почистване, после този серум и след 10 минути продължавам с рутината си. Хидратантите в рутината ми спират реакцията и предотвратяват ексфолиацията. Ако използвам тази киселина по-дълго кожата ми става и суха, и дехидратирана. Въпреки че имам нормална кожа, изглежда е нетолерантна към активни съставки, затова сега ползвам продукта по два пъти на месец. Имайте предвид, че с AHA в началото е нормално кожата ви да стане по-зле, защото AHA-то ще издърпа всичката мръсотия на повърхността и може да ви се появят няколко пъпки на веднъж след първите употреби. Ако това е случая, не се притеснявайте и не спирайте да я ползвате, кожата ви скоро ще се изчисти. Ако имате пъпки по цялото лице, а по принцип нямате, може би е алергична реакция. Все още не мога да разбера защо кожата ми реагира толкова зле към активни съставки, защото е в добро състояние през повечето време, но определено реших да се придържам към този нежен серум два пъти в месеца от колкото да експериментирам с други AHA. I recommend this product to actives beginners like me who would like to try an AHA. The product has a great ingredients list and I personally saw a brighter more even skin when I used it properly. What I like: Convenient packaging  Reasonable amount of product (30 ml)  Very economical Excellent ingredients  What I don't like:  Expensive ($60)  All in all 4/5 Would you like to see more makeup reviews? I have mostly prepared skincare for the next months but if you'd like to see more variety I will try and do my best.

REVIEW: CosRx Natural BHA Skin Returning A-Sol

I pretty much have scheduled a bunch of holy grails for this month and most likely the next one so stay tuned. Today I will talk to you about the CosRx Natural BHA Skin Returning A-sol.

First of all, this product isn't a BHA. The pH is not low enough for it to be one. It's actually a super super mild active so I use it as a pH adjusting toner and a spot treatment. I needed a new pH adjusting toner so I absolutely bought this on a whim, especially since it is definitely not one of CosRx's best sellers and I ended up falling in love.

The product comes in 100 ml bottle which isn't that much considering most toners come in a 200 ml bottle. The bottle has a pump which is quite annoying and very inconvenient for such a thin product because it spills it everywhere. A transfered a part of it in a bottle with a spray pump and it works much better. I bought this for $13 but it might have been slightly discounted.

Propolis Extract is supposed to have soothing properties and although it is not proved I am in the hype train for it. Keep in mind it's the first ingredient because it is diluted in water. Alcohol is often a buzz killer but the concentration is not too high here and my face tolerates it very well. It's a solvent also used to improve absorption of other ingredients. Butylene Glycol is a solvent and a moisturizer. Sodium Lactate is a moisturizer. Lactic Acid is an AHA, it's an exfoliating and whitening ingredient. Water is a solvent. Glycolic Acid is also an AHA. Betaine Salicylate is a Salicylic Acid fatty acid derivative and it's a BHA, an exfoliant. Sodium Hyaluronate is a Hyaluronic Acid derivative and it's a moisturizer. Panthenol is an antistatic and a moisturizer. Allantoin is an anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic ingredient. Cassia obtusifolia Seed Extract (sicklepod) is a moisturizer. 1,2-Hexanediol and Ethyl Hexanediol are solvents. PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil is a surfactant. Melaleuca alternifolia Leaf Oil (narrow leaved tea tree) is a fragrance and antioxidant. This product has a really simple ingredients list, it has the acids which lower the pH, plenty of soothing and calming ingredients and no artificial fragrance. It has a strong herbal tea tree scent and a lot of people end up hating it but I don't mind it.

This A-Sol is the perfect 2-in-1 for me because it's amazing as a pH adjusting toner and as a spot treatment. I often use higher pH cleansers so I try not to skip the adjusting toner. This product is great because it's very mild, it doesn't dry out my skin and it leaves it ready for the next step which is usually an essence or a serum. When I use it as a spot treatment I will generously apply it on zits and leave it for 5 to 10 minutes. It usually calms the zit significantly overnight.

I absolutely love this product and I plan to keep it in stock for my routine from now on. It's inexpensive and it does a wonderful job at keeping my skin clear. And the fact I can also use it as a pH adjusting toner as well is a huge bonus for when I am too lazy and I want a simple and quick routine. What I like:  Inexpensive ($13) Decent amount of product (100 ml) Beautiful packaging Herbal scent Quick absorption Calms zits within 12h Gentle pH adjusting toner What I don't like:  Pump spills the liquid everywhere All in all: 5/5 Do you have any HG spot treatments or pH adjusting toners? Before this product, these two steps were very meh for me and I was never tempted to do them.

REVIEW: Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara

You don't see me talking about mascaras very often and that's because unlike most people I am usually not picky about it. But today I will show you a product that really impressed me and that I would definitely repurchase.

I got this Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara mini in a Glossybox and I instantly fell in love with it. The mini contains 4,8g of product and it retails for 12€ in Sephora. The packaging is seriously so pretty and the water droplets look very real. It's also very portable because it's so tiny, so more bonus points.

The brush is really easy too use. Not too big, not too small and it's hard to poke yourself in the eye (which happens most of the time when I get a new mascara).

I usually wear thick eyeliner so no mascara will give me the doll eyelashes effect. I usually only apply mascara to avoid having my makeup look unfinished. But when I first started using this I was very impressed that it almost gave me a natural falsies effect.

I usually apply just one layer of Better Than Sex because ain't nobody got time for more but I get a very beautiful effect.

A huge bonus is that the formula is very waterproof and it doesn't budge all day. Lately every non-waterproof mascara smudges at some point but I have never had issues with this one. The formula was perfect to use since I opened the mascara which is again a huge plus. Now, 5 months later (review was written 2 months before it was posted), it's a little bit thick and hard to use but that's because there isn't much product left either.

After washing my hand with water

You can see on my photo that the mascara didn't even budge after washing my hand and rubbing it afterwards. Of course, there are downsides too. You need a special (preferably oil-based) makeup remover to wash it off completely. Your micellar water really won't do an amazing job at removing this mascara. I find that if I don't use an oil cleanser, I usually find myself with panda eyes on the next day.

My swatches are with a full eye makeup and eyeliner but I think it is pretty visible this mascara makes my lashes look long and voluminous. If I apply more layers and I overdo it with the mascara, my lashes start touching my glasses so I try to keep it simple.

Суочовете ми са на цялостен очен грим с очна линия, но мисля, че доста добре се вижда, че тази спирала прави миглите ми дълги и обемни. Ако нанеса повече слоеве и прекаля със спиралата, миглите ми започват да се допират в очилата, затова се опитвам да избягвам този момент.

I am really happy with the quality of this mascara. It is exactly what I want from a formula and it I find the effect more than sufficient so I am definitely going to repurchase it despite having a whole stash of mascaras to try next. It takes 30 seconds to apply and I am always certain I won't end up with clumpy lashes and it's a real winner in my book.

If you are wondering what mascara to try next, I would highly recommend going for the Better Than Sex Mascara. Considering the drugstore mascara pricing in France, this really isn't all that expensive and I have honestly never found a better drugstore mascara. REVIEW: Yves Rocher Limited Edition Collection Clementine & Spices

Well, this post was supposed to be up a month ago. But it wasn't. And I am very sorry about that. Since I worked hard to make it though, I decided it would be unfair to leave it unfinished so I am showing it to you despite you probably not being able to find this collection anymore.

I already showed you Yves Rocher's limited edition collection Pear & Cocoa and Cranberry & Almond. This is the third version, Clementine & Spices. I own only 3 products from this collection - the hand cream, the liquid soap and the lip balm.

The entire collection is identical to the two others. Only the fragrance is different but the ingredients are pretty similar.

I've been using the soap for almost two months now. It's very economical. I love the fragrance and it reminds a lot of last year's Candied Orange & Cinnamon collection. It has a thick gel-like consistency. It comes in a pretty bottle with a pump and it contains 190 ml of product. I believe separately it was sold for 2,90€.

The washing base are the surfactants Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate and Decyl Glucoside. Centaurea cyanus Flower Water (cornflower) is a moisturizer. Cocamidopropyl Betaine is  a surfactant and a viscosity control agent. Sodium Benzoate is a preservative.  Citric Acid is a pH adjuster.  Cocamide Mipa is a surfactant and a viscosity control agent. Sodium Chloride  is a viscosity control agent. Tetrasodium EDTA is chelating agent. Limonene is a solvent and a fragrance. Salicylic Acid is an exfoliating ingredient.  Methylpropanediol is a solvent. Citral and Linalool are fragrances. Potassium Sorbate is a preservative. Denatonium Benzoate is an ingredient that makes the product extremely bitter. I will finish this liquid soap with pleasure. I really love the fragrance and I find the most winterish out of the 3 versions which is why once I tested all the products I kept to using this one.

Ще си го привърша с удоволствие. Много ми харесва аромата и го намирам за най-зимен от трите варианта, затова и щом тествах всички продукти продължих да си ползвам този.

The hand cream is actually the first product I tried of the entire limited edition collection because it was sent to  me as a gift in October. I ended up buying the full size much later because I wasn't sure if I wanted it.

Again I have already used half of it, in fact I've used half of each of the hand creams and I will probably finish them by the beginning of the spring. It provides medium hydration, it won't cut it if you have very dry hands but it's good for everyday care and most importantly, it gets absorbed really quickly. I almost finished my 30 ml in my handbag.

The lip balm is absolutely identical to the 2 others, it just has a different fragrance. I love this texture and me and my boyfriend have been using it a lot after finishing the Cranberry & Almond. Although this is my least favorite fragrance of this limited edition collection, it doesn't mean it's still not good. I actually really loved the candle and I wanted to get it together with the Pear & Cocoa but it was out of stock very quickly once it was on sale so I didn't manage to get it unfortunately. The Pear & Cocoa candle is absolutely fantastic though! Well, this is my final review for Yves Rocher's 2016 Christmas collection. I already can't wait for the next one, haha!

Балсамът е еднакъв с другите 2, има само различен аромат. Харесвам текстурата и аз, и приятелят ми го използваме често след като свършихме този с Червена Боровинка & Бадем. Въпреки, че това е най-малко любимият ми аромат от лимитираната колекция, не означава, че не е хубав. Всъщност много ми хареса свещта и исках да си я взема заедно с Круша & Какао, но бързо свърши след като я намалиха и не успях да я намеря. Тази с Круша & Какао е абсолютно фантастична обаче! Това е финалното ми ревю за Коледната колекция за 2016 на Yves Rocher. Вече не мога да дочакам следващата, хаха!

REVIEW: Nuxe Rêve De Miel Lip Balm

It's cold and windy and I've been using the Rêve De Miel Lip Balm by Nuxe a lot so it's time to show you my review.

I bought this lip balm in November and I pretty much fell in love right away. As you have probably noticed, I usually spend months using the products before I do a full review but I've been loving this lip balm so much, it deserves a review as soon as possible.

I got the Rock limited edition and the packaging is super pretty in my opinion. The tiny glass pot is quite heavy so it's not the best option to put in your handbag. It contains 15 g of product and I personally bought it for 7,5€ in France.

This is my first ever product by Nuxe but there are others I would like to try next, especially considering our first encounter is very very positive.

A lot of people don't like it in cosmetics because of insensitivities but I personally love it in both lip balms and skincare. Butyrospermum parkii Butter (shea) is one of my favorite moisturizers and emollients. Vegetable Oil is a pretty blunt way to call it but all oils are emollients. Lecithin is a moisturizer, an emollient, an emulsifier and an antioxidant. Behenoxy Dimethicone and Prunus amygdalus dulcis Oil (sweet almond) are emollients. Honey is a moisturizer. Dimethicone is an emollient. Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate (octinoxate) is a chemical UVA and UVB filter. Citrus grandis Peel Oil (grapefruit) is a fragrance. Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride is a moisturizer and a fragrance. Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil is an emollient. Glycine soja Oil (soybean) is an emollient, a moisturizer and a fragrance. Rosa moschata Seed Oil (musk rose) is an emollient. Tocopheryl Acetate and Tocopherol (derivatives of vitamin E) are moisturizers and antioxidants. Lemon Peel Oil is a fragrance. Candelilla Wax is a viscosity control agent. Allantoin is an anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic ingredient. Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract (pot marigold) is a fragrance. BHT is a preservative. Helianthus annuus Seed Oil (sunflower) is an emollient, a moisturizer, a fragrance and an antioxidant. Citric Acid is a pH adjuster. This lip balm tastes delicious, like sugary lemon with honey on top. I don't know if it's just me but I love eating lemons so using this makes me very happy. The lip balm's ingredients are very nice. It contains beeswax which is a great occlusive and shea butter which is an excellent emollient. It also has allantoin which is perfect for soothing angry painful lips.

Балсамът е много вкусен, има вкус на захаросани лимони с мед. Не знам дали съм само аз, но обичам да ям лимони и този аромат много ми харесва. Съставките на балсама са много хубави. Съдържа пчелен восък, който е чудесен оклузивна съставка, както и масло от ший, което е отличен емолиент. Съдържа също и алантоин, който е идеален за успокоение на ядосани болезнени устни.

This lip balm is super raved for a reason. I have a horrible habit of biting my lips until they bleed (it's actually kind of a form of OCD because I often do it without realizing) so very often my lips are super dry and cracked. It's winter now, it's windy and the situation gets 10 times worse. This is the lip balm I will apply on terribly cracked dry lips at night and wake up with almost completely restored lips. When I use it regularly I stop having problems with my lips which is amazing. This pot will last me for quite some time despite using it very generously.

Този балсам е толкова хвален не без причина. Имам ужасния навик да си хапя устните докато им текне кръв (всъщност си е форма на ОКР, защото често го правя без да си давам сметка) и често устните ми са сухи и напукани. Сега е зима, ветровито е и ситуацията е 10 пъти по-зле. Това е балсамът, който нанасям на отвратително напукани устни вечер и се събуждам с почти възстановени устни. Когато го ползвам редовно въобще нямам проблеми с устните, което е невероятно. Това бурканче ще ми стигне за доста време въпреки че го ползвам доста щедро.

I am super impressed by this lip balm and I will definitely keep it in stock from now on. It really isn't that expensive for the amount and the quality you get. What I like:  Huge amount of product (15 g)  Rather affordable for its size (7,5€)  Adorable packaging Fantastic fragrance  Great ingredients  Quickly soothes painful lips  Longlasting effect What I don't like:  Travel-unfriendly  All in all: 5/5 Hands down, this is my most favorite lip balm now! I am only sad I can't have it in my purse as well but I might try the stick version next even if I am skeptical of it because the ingredients are quite different. This one big "bloggers made me buy it" success for me and I highly recommend it to anyone having issues with dry lips!
