REVIEW: Huygens Le Gommage Visage

I have a really hard time picking which products I want to review and so far I think the choice is kinda random and I review whatever I feel like when I decide I want to write. Today I am showing you the Le Gommage Visage (face scrub) by the French brand Huygens which I am not sure how widely is available outside of France.

Huygens is a brand Birchbox introduced me to, for which I am thankful. The brand claims to be naturalistic and bio. This specific product they claim to be 98,9% natural and 72,9% issued from biologic agriculture. I am really lost at what "natural" stands for today but I fully support proper bio agriculture that also respects the safety requirements of course. The product I received is a tiny 10 ml travel size and I ended up having 3 of these so more than half of the full size product which is 50 ml.

I really love when brands put their ingredients lists online and I copied these from the site of Huygens. The scrub indeed has excellent ingredients, the top ones being Green Tea Extract and Sesame Oil. The green tea extract is known for its calming and soothing properties while the sesame oil is excellent moisturizer that personally for me works better than the more common ones like coconut oil and almond oil which clog my pores in high concentrations. Cetearyl Glucoside, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate are all emulsifiers. They are generally considered very mild ingredients although some people are sensitive towards fatty alcohols (cetearyl alcohol). The Rice Starch Powder I assume is the abrasive particles, it's an excellent gentle exfoliator. Glycerin is a moisturizer. Citrus Aurantium Amara Flower Water is water from a bitter orange flowers, in this case I believe it's the fragrance. Algin in cosmetics has plenty of uses including moisturizer, thickener and stabilizer, keep in mind it can be very irritating and trigger acne. Benzyl Alcohol is harsh preservative and fragrance but I've used products with it before and didn't have any issues with it in particular. It scores red on CosDNA. Dehydroacetic Acid, Sodium Benzoate and Potassium Sorbate are all preservatives considered to be safe. Tocopherol is a form of Vitamin E. Citric Acid is used as a pH adjuster.

Glycerin e хидратант. Citrus Aurantium Amara Flower Water е вода от цветовете на горчив портокал и в този случай, вярвам, че това е ароматизатора. Algin в козметиката има най-различни употреби, включително хидратант, сгъстител и стабилизатор, имайте предвид, че може да е особено дразнещ и да отключи акне. Benzyl Alcohol е груб консервант и ароматизатор, но съм ползвала продукти с него преди и не съм имала проблеми. The formula is pretty good, all the beneficial ingredients are in the highest concentrations. However it seems to be quite unstable even with all the preservatives because the expiration date is only 6 months after opening. My first jar is older and currently the oils have separated from the rest of the product. I have only a bit left so I will manage to use it up completely but it's the thing that actually bugs me the most about this product and what stops me from wanting to buy it in full size. If such tiny jars are available I would gladly get them after using up all of mine. I don't really like scrubs, with the subscription boxes I've had the chance to test plenty and almost all of them are way too harsh for my skin. This one, however is really gentle and also very moisturizing. After use my face feels super soft because of the removed dead skin cells but also because it has been hydrated like I've just used a mask. The product smells wonderfully like citruses and it makes it even more pleasant to use.

Формулата е доста добра, всички полезни съставки са в най-високи концентрации. Но изглежда доста нестабилно, дори и с всичките консерванти, защото срокът на годност е само 6 месеца след отварянето. Първото ми бурканче е по-старо и в момента маслата са се отделили от останалите съставки. Имам само малко останало и ще успея да го доизхабя, но е нещото, което ме притеснява най-много и което ме спира да искам да си купя продукта в пълен размер. Ако подобни малки бурканчета се продават, с удоволствие бих си ги взимала след като свърша моите. Не харесвам много скрабове и с абонаментните кутии имах възможността да пробвам доста и почти всички са твърде груби за моята кожа. Този, обаче, е много нежен, а и хидратиращ. След употреба кожата ми е много мека заради премахнатите мъртви клетки, но и защото е хидратирана като след маска. Продуктът ухае прекрасно на цитруси, което го прави още по-приятен за употреба.

Another downside is the price of almost 20€. However if you are someone who loves using scrubs more often and you want to invest in something of really high quality I would recommend this. Final verdict? I love it, it's a great product even if it's not budget-friendly at all. Друг минус е, че цената е почти 20€. Но ако обичате да ползвате скрабове  ползвате по-често и искате да инвестирате в нещо с наистина добро качество, тогава препоръчвам. Финално мнение?
