REVIEW: Mizon Snail Repair Blemish Balm

Today's review will be about a very favorite BB cream of mine, Mizon Snail Repair Blemish Balm. I purchased this BB cream in April 2016 and I've been using it pretty consistently since I got it.

The BB cream comes in a sleek brown reflective packaging, with the cute snail from the Snail line on it. It contains 50 ml of product and it costs around $10 with shipping on eBay.

The packaging's quality is really good, I have no remarks. The BB label wore off (only this one though) but it's not such an issue for me. The BB cream also has SPF 32 PA ++ which is a nice bonus.

Arbutin is a brightening ingredient. Polymethyl Methacrylate is a film forming agent. Hexyl Laurate  is an emollient. Sodium Chloride is a viscosity control agent. Ozokerite is a viscosity control agent and an antistatic. Glycosyl Trehalose is a moisturizer. Zinc Oxide is an UVA and UVB physical filter. CI 77492 is a pigment. Water and  Triethyl Citrate are solvents. Hydrogenated Starch Hydrolysate is a moisturizer. Lauryl PEG/PPG 18/18 Methicone and Sorbitan Sesquioleate are emulsifiers. Calcium Stearate is a surfactant and an emulsifier. Ethylhexylglycerin is a moisturizer. Caprylyl Glycol is a moisturizer and an emollient. PEG-10 Dimethicone is a surfactant and an emollient. Triethoxycaprylylsilane is an emulsifier. CI 77491 and CI 77499 are pigments. Stearic Acid is a surfactant, a viscosity control agent and an emulsifier. Disteardimonium Hectorite and Alumina are viscosity control agents. Tropolone is a moisturizer. Adenosine is an anti-aging ingredient. Disodium EDTA  is a chelating agent. Tocopheryl Acetate is a derivative of vitamin E, it's a moisturizer and an antioxidant. Allantoin is an anti-inflammatory ingredient. Panthenol is an antistatic and a moisturizer. Glycerin is a solvent and a moisturizer. Alcohol is a solvent. Lavandula angustifolia Extract (lavender) is a fragrance and a moisturizer. Castanea sativa Seed Extract (chestnut) is an antioxidant. Propylene Glycol is a solvent, viscosity control agent and a moisturizer. Cornus officinalis Fruit Extract (Japanese cornelian cherry) has an unknown function. Boron Nitride is an absorbent and a moisturizer. Acrylates/ Ammonium Methacrylate Copolymer is an antistatic. Lecithin is an antioxidant, a moisturizer, an emollient and an emulsifier. Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride is a moisturizer. Gentiana lutea Root Extract (great yellow gentian) is a moisturizer and antioxidant. Achillea millefolium Extract (yarrow) is an anti-inflammatory ingredient. Artemisia absinthium Extract (mugwort) is a moisturizer. Arnica montana Flower Extract (arnica) is a moisturizer and a fragrance. C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate is an emollient. Diisopropyl Adipate is a solvent and an emollient. Ubiquinone is an antioxidant. Carica papaya Fruit Water (papaya) is a moisturizer and antibacterial ingredient. Sodium Hyaluronate is a moisturizer. Beta-Glucan is an anti-allergic ingredient. Potassium Sorbate is a preservative. Polyhydroxystearic Acid  is an emulsifier. Aluminum Stearate is a pigment and a viscosity control agent. This BB cream is NC15 which means it has yellow (warm) undertones. I'm N10-15 as you know but it matches me pretty well and I definitely don't look sickly yellow with it. It has a very thick texture, typical for BB creams and medium coverage.

For a very long time I used to apply this with my fingers and it works just fine but I feel like I get way better finish if I use a beauty blender. The BB has a tendency to stick to my dry patches but the beauty blender eliminates that.

It's also quite longlasting. I pretty much don't need to wear powder when I have this because it has a natural finish and it lasts 6-8h.

When I first tried this I was so wowed how amazing my skin looks. It's like I am not wearing anything at all but my skin looks so much brighter and healthier. If I apply a small amount, it's really hard to tell I am wearing makeup.

One thing this BB cream doesn't do and I wish it did is provide some hydration. It's perfect for the summer but it wasn't my number 1 choice for winter because it slightly dries out my skin. On the other hand, it helps with blemishes and redness probably due to the snail mucin in it. It's my favorite BB cream to wear when I have a zit and I want it to go away quicker.

Bare face

This BB cream gives you a really healthy glow and I am loving it. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a BB cream with medium coverage that will actively help with maintaining the skin in good condition. The BB cream only comes in one shade which is a shame because more people deserve to try it.

With Mizon Snail Repair BB

As you can see, just one layer evens out my skin tone and covers my dark circles. I'm having awfully a lot of lazy days lately (I suffer from pretty intense migraines if someone's curious) and I very often go out with one layer of this BB cream  (or the Missha M Perfect Cover and Innisfree Ampoule Moisture Cushion which you'll see soon as well), eyebrow pencil and mascara. And quite honestly I look way healthier and glowier than I feel.

This is one of my holy grail BB creams, it matches me really well, it helps me when I have blemishes and it's also effortlessly beautiful looking. I highly recommend you giving this a go.
