REVIEW: The Body Shop Indian Night Jasmine Body Butter | EDT

Pretty much all my The Body Shop purchases have been absolutely random and "Oh, this smells so nice, must buy it!", that's why I usually visit the shop when they have the winter/summer sales. I picked Indian Night Jasmine Body Butter and the Eau De Toilette during the winter sales as a gift for finishing exams.

Взех си Indian Night Jasmine Body Butter и Eau De Toilette по време на зимните намаление, като награда, че приключих с изпитите.

The regular price of the body butters is 18€ which is awfully a lot but knowing that every 6 months I get to buy one with a 50% off sale, I make sure to check out if there's a scent I like.

Нормалната цена на маслата за тяло е 18€, което е ужасно много, но тъй като знам, че на всеки 6 месеца ги намалят с 50%, винаги проверявам дали има аромат, който ми харесва.

To be honest, I don't find TBS' tubs to be the most practical ones but on the other hand, they are okay for storing one on top of another since I do have several body butters (way more than I need, honestly). Indian Night Jasmine is, I believe, some sort of special collection. The scent is absolutely magnificent, especially for someone jasmine obsessed like me (green tea with jasmine petals is my favorite green tea!) so the moment I smelled this, I knew I have to have it. Usually with TBS I have one problem and it's that I pick the freshest fragrances, suitable only for summer but the consistency and texture of the butters is very much something I would use in the winter and find too heavy for summer. Thankfully, Indian Night Jasmine is one of those cozy fragrances that is suitable for every occasion, both day and night, summer and winter. I am someone who likes safe choices, when it comes to fragrances, I don't want my perfume to bother anyone sitting next to me.

Честно казано, не намирам бурканите на TBS за най-практичните, но пък удобно се съхраняват един върху друг, тъй като имам няколко масла (повече от колкото ми трябват, всъщност). Indian Night Jasmine е, мисля, някаква специална колекция. Ароматът е абсолютно прекрасен, особено за някой като мен, който обожава жасмин (зеленият чай с жасмин ми е любимият зелен чай!), така че веднага щом го подуших, знаех, че трябва да си го взема. Обикновено проблемът с TBS е че си избирам най-свежите аромати, подходящи само за лятото, но консистенцията и текстурата на маслата е такава, че бих ги ползвала само зимата и никога лятото. За щастие, Indian Night Jasmine е един от онези приятни аромати, подходящи за всеки повод, през деня и през нощта, зимата и лятото. Аз обичам възможно най-леките парфюми и не обичам да притеснявам никого с избора си на аромат.

This body butter has a softer texture than the most TBS body butters I've tried, it's easier to spread and it's not as buttery as the rest. On the other hand, it's perfectly hydrating for both winter and summer. For example the Vineyard Peach Body Butter (whose fragrance is mind-blowingly good) is often too heavy and it makes me feel like I am about to get fried because it leaves such a film on my skin. This one however, gets absorbed a lot quicker and it doesn't annoy me as much when I use it during the summer right now.

Маслото за тяло има по-мека текстура от повечето масла на TBS, които съм пробвала, лесно се разнася и не е толкова маслено. От друга страна, хидратира чудесно и зимата, и лятото. Например Vineyard Peach Body Butter (чийто аромат ми е страшно любим) често ми е твърде тежко и ме кара да се чувствам все едно ще се изпържа в него, защото оставя много сериозен филм на кожата. Това обаче, се абсорбира много по-бързо и не ме е дразни толкова дори и когато го ползвам през лятото в момента.

The first ingredient after Water is Glycerin which is an excellent moisturizer. Butyrospermum parkii Butter (Shea) is the ingredient I see in all TBS body butters, it's one of the most hydrating oils and I love it for my body. Orbignya oleifera Seed Oil (Babassu) is a moisturizer and an occlusive. Olea Europaea Fruit Oil (Olive) is also one of my favorite oils when it comes to the hydration it provides. Theobroma cacao Seed Butter (Cocoa) is a moisturizer, emollient and an occlusive. Coco-caprylate/Caprate is an emollient. Cetearyl Alcohol is a surfactant and a viscosity control agent. Glyceryl Stearate is an emollient and emulsifier. Helianthus annuus Hybrid Oil (Sunflower) is an emollient and an antioxydant. Sesamum indicum Seed Oil (Sesame) is an emollient. PEG-100 Stearate is a surfactant. Beeswax is a viscosity control agent, emollient and an emulsifier. Dimethicone is an emollient. Phenoxyethanol is a preservative. Capryl Glycol is a moisturizer and emollient. Xanthan Gum  is a viscosity control agent. Hexyl Cinnamal, Linalool and Alpha-isomethyl ionone are fragrances. Tocopherol is an antioxydant. Disodium EDTA is a preservative and a stabilizer. Benzyl Salicylate is a sunscreen and a fragrance and it scores red in CosDNA because it's an irritant. Citroneliol and Hydroxycitronellal are fragrances. The latter scores red in CosDNA because it's an irritant but only in concentrations above 5%, while it's approved in concentrations of maximum 1% in cosmetics. Sodium Hydroxide is a pH adjuster. Coumarin is fragrance and it scores red in CosDNA because it's an irritant. Nyctanthes arbor-tristis Seed Extract (Night-flowering jasmine) is an antioxydant, as mentioned in this article. Citric Acid is a pH adjuster. Benzoic Acid and Dihydroacetic Acid are preservatives. Ethylhexylglycerin is a moisturizer. You can find the ingredients list in CosDNA here.

I honestly really like this product and I would repurchase it if it's not limited and I find it again. It's very economical as every TBS body butter and the fragrance lasts a really long time. Combined with the EDT you are a guaranteed at least 8 hours of heavenliness.

Много харесвам продукта и бих си го купила отново, ако не е лимитиран и го намеря пак. Много е икономичен като всяко едно масло на TBS, а ароматът се задържа много дълго време. Комбиниран с EDT ви е гарантирано поне 8 часа прекраснотия.

The EDT has the exact same fragrance as the body butter (is anyone surprised!?) but it's actually not as strong. I really love such mild and gentle fragrances suitable for everyday. It's not very longlasting on its own, I stop feeling it after 4 hours but it might be me because very often I don't feel my own perfume and when someone hugs me they notice it while I can't tell at all. I think the packaging is really pretty and TBS really put efforts in it because it's not a brand I would expect to make extra pretty perfumes. I got this on a 70% off sale for 8€ so it was definitely a total steal!

Тоалетната вода има същия аромат като маслото (някой учудва ли се!?), но не е толкова силен. Много харесвам такива леки и нежни аромати подходящи за всеки ден. Не е много издръжлив самостоятелно, спирам да го усещам след 4 часа, но може и да съм си аз, защото често не си усещам собствения парфюм, докато ако някой ме прегърне го забелязва. Мисля, че опаковката е много красива и TBS наистина са се постарали, а не са марка, от която бих очаквала да правят красиви парфюми. Взех си го със 70% намаление за 8€ и определено си беше оферта!

If you like the soft scent of jasmine, I would definitely recommend you to check this collection out! I probably wouldn't pay the full price for these two products but with the discount, I would repurchase them for sure. What I like:  Beautiful packaging  Amazing fragrance  Good amount of product (200 ml/ 50 ml)  Excellent hydration  Absorbs quickly  Very economical  What I don't like:  Pricey when not on sale (18€ / 35€) All in all: 4,5/5 As you probably noticed, I was sort of on vacation because I haven't posted in a while.
