REVIEW: Yves Rocher Serum Végétal Wrinkles & Radiance Smoothing Care Day

I love Yves Rocher's moisturizers, I don't think you can go wrong with them. I've tried quite a lot of them and I am really motivated to test them all. This is from the Sérum Végétal Wrinkles & Radiance line and it's the Smoothing Care Day Cream.

If I am not mistaken, this line is for 45+ years old but I generally like Yves Rocher's anti-aging creams more than the ones for younger people because they are richer and my normal to dry skin really likes that. I got this cream as a gift with a purchase and I was really excited to try it.

The cream comes in a pretty paper box that contains a massive glass jar. The Yves Rocher creams are anything but travel-friendly because they are so bulky and heavy but they look quite pretty on my shelves so I am not complaining. It's just that the labels rub off but it might be my way of storing them. The Sérum Végétal Wrinkles & Radiance line is in pink and it's similar to another line... so similar I always forget which cream I tested and liked in the store.

After water, the next ingredient is Glycerin which is one of my favorite moisturizers. Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride is a fragrance and a moisturizer. Dimethicone is an emollient. Methylpropanediol is a solvant. Cetyl Alcohol is a surfactant, viscosity control agent and an emollient. Glycine soja Oil (soybean) and Sesamum indicum Seed Oil (sesame) are both great moisturizers, emollients and fragrances. Methyl Glucose Sesquistearate is an emollient and an emuslifier. Brassica Campestris Seed Oil (rapeseed) is a moisturizer. Centaurea cyanus Flower Water (cornflower) is a moisturizer. Talc is an absorbant and bulking agent. PEG-100 Stearate is a surfactant. Glyceryl Stearate is an emollient and an emulsifier. Acacia senegal gum (Arabic gum) is a viscosity control agent. Aphloia theiformis Leaf Extract (albino-berry) is an astringent. Phenoxyethanol is a preservative. Inositol is component of Lecithin may have water-binding properties. Carbomer is a viscosity control agent. Ethyl Linoleate is an emollient. Xanthan Gum is a viscosity control agent. Lecithin is a moisturizer, an emollient, an emulsifier and an antioxidant. Tocopheryl Acetate (derivative of vitamin E) is an antioxidant and a moisturizer. Sorbic Acid is a preservative. Retinyl Palmitate (derivative of vitamin A) is an antioxidant and it scores in red in CosDNA probably because it can be unstable in certain formulas and it can cause irritation. Sodium Hydroxide is a pH adjuster. BHT is a preservative. Tetrasodium EDTA is a chelating agent. Mesembryanthemum crystallinum Extract (ice plant) is a moisturizer. Sodium Benzoate is preservative. Citric Acid is a pH adjuster. Tocopherol (derivative of vitamin E) is an antioxidant. Potassium Sorbate and Propyl Gallate are preservatives. You can find the ingredients in CosDNA here. The ingredients of this moisturizer are good and as always I have never been disappointed by Yves Rocher and what they put in their products.

The cream is milky white and it has a rather thick texture but it absorbs quickly. I think people with normal to dry and combination skin will find it a good base for makeup. The cream leaves a slight powdery finish when you touch your skin which might be due to the talc in it. I've had similar experience with other day creams. I'm not sure if that helps for oil control for those who need it. Because of this powdery finish, the cream has a slight smoothing effect as it claims and it hides small pores and fine lines but nothing too drastic. It just gives you a fresher face.

Кремът е млечнобял и има по-скоро гъста текстура, но се абсорбира бързо. Мисля, че хората с нормална до суха и комбинирана кожа ще го намерят за добра база за грим. Кремът оставя лек пудрен завършек когато докоснете кожата си и е възможно да е заради талка в него. Имала съм подобен опит и с други дневни кремове. Не съм сигурна дали помага за контрола върху омазняването, за тези, които имат нужда от него. Заради пудрения си завършек, кремът има лек заглаждащ ефект както твърде и прикрива малки пори и фини линии, но нищо драстично. Просто прави лицето по-свежо.

I use this during the day exclusively and it's not because I am such an instructions follower but rather I'm worried the talc might clog my pores if I sleep with it.

Използвам го само през деня и не е защо следвам зорко инструкциите, а защото ме е страх, че талкът може да ми запуши порите, ако спя с него.

I used this moisturizer during the summer. I often used only it and sunscreen after washing my face when in a hurry and my skin still felt pretty hydrated so it does the job for me. Almost all of Yves Rocher's skincare has a nice fragrance and this cream is not exception. It has a pleasant floral fragrance that some people might find too strong but I quite like it.

Използвах този хидратант през лятото. Често го използвах само със слънцезащита след като си измия лицето когато бързах и кожата ми пак си беше хидратирана, така че на мен ми вършеше работа. Почти цялата бяла козметика на Yves Rocher има приятен аромат и този крем не е изключение. Има много приятен флорален аромат, който някои хора може да намерят за силен, но на мен ми харесва.

Did it make my face radiant? Not that I noticed. The cream has a semi-matte natural finish so it doesn't leave my face dewy or radiant but since it's a really decent moisturizer I am definitely not complaining. I noticed this product is not really economical because I got it mid-May and I finished it in October so it only lasted me 5 months while I've had other Yves Rocher moisturizers that lasted way longer but that's probably because I put massive amounts of it most of the time. This cream tends to pill with certain sunscreens, exclusively the ones that have chemical filters but it's not the first moisturizer that does that so I'm willing to blame it on the sunscreen.

I really loved this moisturizer for summer and I would repurchase it. Currently I am using the day cream from the Riche Crème which is much richer but it's doing a great job for winter. I would recommend Sérum Végétal Wrinkles & Radiance Smoothing Care Day to those of you with normal/normal to dry/combo skin who don't mind a little fragrance in your products.
